Founded in 1996 by Oliver Hughes & Liam Lahart, the Porterhouse Brewing Co. are Ireland's pioneers of craft beer. The two cousins Liam & Oliver were ahead of their time in opening one of Ireland's first brew pubs, in the heart of Dublin City, Temple Bar. Since then they opened a chain of successful bars in Dublin, London & New York while the brewery moved in 2000 to Damastown in north Dublin and then to a new facility in Glasnevin in 2017. This brewery was sold in 2023, though the brand and pubs remain with the original company. As of 2024, Porterhouse beers are contract brewed by other independent Irish breweries.

The 5 Lamps Dublin Brewery was set up in early 2012 and the first beer The 5 Lamps Dublin Lager was launched in September 2012. Though originally intended for North Strand, hence the name, the brewery's first location was in Donore Avenue Dublin 8. In 2019 it moved to the former Camden Deluxe Hotel. The core range is brewed by parent company C&C in Clonmel, with specials and seasonals coming from the Camden Street site. William Harvey is the head brewer. William enjoyed a 26 year career with Guinness across a number of functions including but not limited to: Brewer, Technical manager for the US and Canada and Head of Procurement for brewing materials and brewing sites. William is passionate about beer and has forgotten more about beer in his lifetime than most people are likely to know

Brews, tipples, alcohol or water, hot or cold, as long it brewsโฆitโs in. Pouring in Dublin: The Bernard Shaw, The Back Page, The Square Ball, MVP and Wigwam as well as popping up at festivals such as Beatyard in Dun Laoghaire. Summer of 2016 has brought us up to beer number 10, our first IPA: The Long One. This was shortly followed by Solitary Flight Saison and Relax The Cacks IPA, both brewed for Beatyard.

Having home brewed for years and then completed a Commercial Brewing course in the UK in Early January 2014, I decided to set about brewing our own beer just for The Larder Restaurant. At present we are Gypsy Brewers and very proud of where we are at and have great plans for the future. Dublin Brewer Brewery was set up in March 2014 and we launched our first beers in April of last year. We have grown over the last year and now have 4 beers in our collection. We launched in March 2014 with our much acclaimed 6.1% Dublin Brewer IPA. By its side we brought in a more accessible Dubllin Brewer Blonde at 4.5%. Both these beers we have brewed with Kevin O Hara in Independent Brewing , Carraroe, Co. Galway. In October of last year introduced two new beers. Firstly a more session-able IPA in Dublin Brewer Session IPA at 4.2% and Dublin Brewer Lager, at 4.5%. We have brewed both beers with Carrig Brewing in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim. Our labels were designed by one of our long time customers Austin Butler of Mac Design.

Our long history in the Parnell St area led us to the perfect space for our new venture. We set out on a journey to build a state-of-the-art brewery, designed from the ground up for great beer. Turning that dream into reality did not come easily in a year where the odds were stacked against us. Driven by passion and the backing of friends, family and our community, our brewery is back on track and in full swing. After a great deal of trial and error and against all the odds, our first brew, Liberator Irish Lager, is a true labour of love. Our tribute to pioneering spirits and glass-half-full hoptimists everywhere.

Our connection with the city is as close today as it always was. My passion is to share new beer with my local area, to give something of me and my city to you. We were local, organic, recycling, making-do people out of necessity, long before it was popular. Our beers are a reflection of our values, wholesome, of exemplary quality and really very good.
