Brennan's Brewery is just the latest chapter in a rich family tradition. Brennan's Brewery's passion for brewing and love for the pub industry can be traced back four generations, in both Ireland and Britain, to 1905 when a young Patrick J Brennan, from Kildare, Ireland, would become an apprentice brewer in Dublin. This lineage continued when his son, James Brennan, followed in his fathers footsteps, learning the art and life of a cooper, expertly trained to make wooden beer casks, barrels, vats, buckets, tubs, troughs and other staved containers from timber. He went on to become a master cooper in the 1940's and 1950's. A young barman and carpenter Patrick Brennan, grandson of Patrick J Brennan, would meet a young Ellen Martin, from Enniscorthy, county Wexford, in the busy city of Dublin during the 1950s which would lead the family path in the hospitality industry spanning more than 55 years. Patrick and Ellen's son Peter and his family has carried on his great grandfather's passion for brewing by developing Brennan's Brewery, and its innovative products, In the tradition of an exceptional family heritage, honors the culmination of years of testing and adapting unique brewing techniques to deliver the perfect dark beer

While known for our award winning stout range and a stellar set of IPAs that make up most of our core range, our sour programme is emerging as probably our point of differentiation. The Púca sour range in particular has captured the imagination of the beer consumer who wants a tart, effervescent mixed fermentation sour beer. It's supported by our Heather sour, Apple sour and a few other special and collaboration sours we've made along the way. We also collaborate with many of our peers in the industry, and have made beers with breweries from across the world that have been truly ground breaking for us. We're also home to a unique crowd funded barrel-aging programme of over 40,000 litres of specially brewed beer on oak.
