About The Rat Brewery

This bespoke 6 brewers barrel plant produces around 150 firkins/kegs per week. Our Brewers have created Rodent themed beers to critical acclaim and have won a string of Awards. The Rat Brewery concentrates on heavily hopped pale ales such as the mega popular White Rat (heavily American hopped 4% extra pale beer). Ones to look out for include the intensely hoppy Crazy Rat 6% and Rat Against the Machine 7.4%. Our Head Brewer, Paul Spencer, personally brews something special each month under the 'Project Rat' experimental series of one-off brews. Huddersfield’s iconic award-winning brew pub has been given a new lease of life with a comprehensive yet sympathetic overhaul that manages to maintain a unique character. Packed full of eye-catching art and imaginative decoration, the Rat & Ratchet is an exceptional drinking experience with the widest appeal. The Rat Brewery is housed beneath the pub and supplies not only the pub but festivals and bars countrywide.
