About René

René - grandfather in law of brewer Koenraad - used to go to bars a lot to play cards with his brother Omer and both of their wives (who were sisters as well). For years and years while playing cards Omer ordered the beer that carried his name: Omer, and he playfully forced his brother René to drink "his" beer as well. When Koenraad decided to create a unique craft beer together with his father-in-law he wanted to give René the pleasure of having "his own" beer as well... and the rest is history. René was born in 2015, and from then on both brothers could drink their own beer while playing cards.
