We are a family-friendly, full-service restaurant experience featuring craft beers, spirits and sodas produced on-site. We’ll also offer the best destination craft distillery tour in the country along with unique private event spaces celebrating the history of the Collinsville Herald and our city’s nearly forgotten brewing and distilling past. Our company name is Ardent Spirits, Inc. This name comes from the original property deeds establishing the formation of Collinsville in 1837. Those first property deeds included a clause requiring any land owner who produced or sold “ardent spirits” to forfeit their land. “Ardent Spirits” will be the brand of our craft spirits (whiskey, gin, rum and a few surprises). We needed to choose a different brand name for our beers. Since we always intended to celebrate the history of our location as the former home of the Collinsville Herald for 80+ years, Old Herald Brewing Co. ™ seemed perfect! This is the name of our restaurant as well.
