About Old Chimneys Brewery
Founder Alan Thomson started as a brewer with Vaux Brewery in Sunderland in 1977. After spells with Greene King and Broughton Brewery, he started Old Chimneys in 1995. He closed the brewery in 2019 and is now a part time consultant brewer. Good King Henry Special Reserve, Old Chimneys' renowned Imperial Stout, is brewed under Alan's supervision at Grain Brewery.
