About Coöperatieve Stadsbrouwerij De Dikke

We started Stadsbrouwerij de Dikke in 2015. This brewery re-introduced a beer, based on a recipe from 1495. This was found in a so called ordinance, and ordered that beer should be made, using a large amount of oats. A grain that is not often used in beer nowadays. It however gives a very creamy and smoothly taste and de Dikke has won several awards with her different products. All of the beers are brewed in Wijk bij Duurstede, using only natural ingredients. All of our beers contain a certain percentage of oats, as per the original recipe. Whenever you plan to visit Wijk bij Duurstede, don’t forget to ask for a brewery tour!
