About Catawba Brewing Co.
In 1999, our founders began brewing with cobbled together dairy equipment in a basement in Glen Alpine, North Carolina. The initial batches of the first beer, a red ale, were sold to three visionary accounts in Asheville who embraced a young craft beer movement. The craft beer scene in Western North Carolina continued to blossom over the years and with it, Catawba grew into a regional brand with locations spanning from the mountains to the sea. Throughout our distribution territory, we seek to combine our passion for the outdoors, craft beer and our community.
