About Castor Ales

Duncan Vessey of Castor Ales a lifelong Posh supporter wanted to commemorate Posh’s amazing season with a special beer. He has dry-hopped one of his regular brews, in other words he has added extra hops to a cask, which changes the taste and nature of the beer. Duncan said ‘ The name ‘Craig Mack Ale’ is a fitting tribute to Craig who has had a fantastic season scoring 35 goals, he is a favourite at London Road and will always receive a warm welcome from the fans when he returns’ The beer went on sale in the Ostrich, North Street, Peterborough yesterday, and will soon be available at the Prince of Wales, Castor, and the Hand and Heart, Highbury Road, Peterborough. Duncan added ‘the ale is blonde of course, a pint of two halves, and when drunk sensibly, you’re likely to score!’ Duncan friend’s local artist and ET cartoonist, John Elson drew the pump clip in the pub on Monday night, to be displayed with ‘Posh pride’ on the pump clips of the pubs. Duncan hopes to be able to present Craig with the original artwork, when he leaves Posh. The beer is a limited edition in Peterborough, but is likely to be found in Norwich, Liverpool, Wigan or London in the near future!
