About Brouwerij Leeghwater

Brouwerij Leeghwater is a Dutch brewery located in the centre of the 'Land of Leeghwater': a remarkable area of reclaimed land just above Amsterdam dating from the 17th century. This area is known for its polders and windmills. An exceptional example of one of the Leeghwater polders is the Beemster Polder, which earned a spot on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Our brewery is run by a devoted group of friends that grew up in this cultural landscape. Through our brews we aim to tell the story behind this extraordinary piece of The Netherlands. Brewer and founder Hans has a clear vision and an even bigger passion for craftbeer. We aim to create high quality beers that are balanced, relatively low in alcohol and full of flavour.
