    Conceived in Luxembourg by Stephen Demczuk and Wolfgang Stark. Working in Luxembourg Stephen started writing about beer and tried to open a brewery in Arlon, Belgium. He then formed the first beer-of-the-month club in Europe, Beer Around the World.Importing beer into Luxembourg and shipping within the EU. Wolfgang supplied Ngoma, Togo; Flame, New Zealand and Leningrad Cowboy, Finland. He asked Stephen if he wanted to brew beer in Germany using an American marketing theme. With an immediate yes, Stephen suggested The Raven. The Baltimore-registered company produced The Raven in honor of Edgar Allan Poe. Now brewed in Baltimore, Maryland, and at Brouwerij Strubbe, Ichtegem Belgium all brands are named after short stories and poems by Poe.
