Visaginas yra vienas labiausiai žalių Lietuvos miestų, todėl visiškai nekeista čia sutikti įvairių miško gyventojų. Labai greit bravore apsigyveno ir Šernas su Lokiu (tuo metu, matyt, vieninteliu Lietuvoje). Ilgai netruko, kol Lokys pradėjo virti. Šernas ieškojo ingredientų. Po kelių metų supratę, kad mini bravoras nesugeba patenkinti tiek daug Bear & Boar alaus mėgėjų, nusprendė statyti naują - daug didesnį, modernesnį. 2024 metais pirmą kartą alus gimė jau moderniausiame ir geriausiame craf bravore Lietuvoje. / A long time ago... back in 2018, two friends decided to start a small brewery. They wanted something fresh, modern and in their hometown. This is when the first craft beer brewery was born in Visaginas. Visaginas is one of the greenest towns in Lithuania, so it is not surprising to meet various forest animals here. Very soon, Boar and Bear (at that time, apparently, the only one in Lithuania) also settled in the brewery. It didn’t take long for the Bear to start brewing. Boar was looking for ingredients. A few years later friends realized that this small brewery was not able to satisfy so many Bear & Boar beer lovers, so they decided to build a new one - much bigger and very modern. New beer was born in 2024 in the most modern and best craft beer brewery in Lithuania.

“Sakiškių alus” is a Vilnius based microbrewery that grew out of the idea of homebrewing. The intention was simple – hand made modern beer, brewed in a hand built brewery. Former homebrewer and now the owner of “Sakiškių alus” Linas Zakarevičius was the one who came up with this idea. The whole brewery fits in an 80 square meter double storey carcass house. It’s not much for a production brewery, but in this hand built facility Linas ideas become reality from grain to glass, using the equipment that he designed himself. Starting from scratch it took more than half a year to put everything together. Linas’s happy he’s got dedicated friends who helped him on the way. But the very special commitment was given be his dad. He was the main helper to raise those walls and put the roof on top of them. He gave up his annual holidays by helping his son to fulfil his dream.

Jovaru Alus (sometimes called Jovaru Šnekutis) should be your first priority. This is a true Lithuanian farmhouse ale, brewed from Lithuanian malts, and a rather unusual recipe. While mashing, the brewer boils a hop tea on the side, then after mashing the hop tea is mixed in, the wort is cooled, and the yeast is pitched at 35 degrees C. You'll note the total absence of any boiling of the wort, so this is a raw ale. All modern beer is boiled, so according to modern brewing theory it shouldn't even be possible to make a beer like this.

At the moment 99,57 % of „Volfas Engelman“ shares belong to the Finnish „Olvi“ Company Group. “Olvi” was established in 1878 by the brewer Williams Gideon Åberg and his wife Onni. At present it is the third largest producer of beer, cider and soft drinks in Finland.
