About Vreta kloster bryggeri

Vreta kloster brewery was created in the autumn of 2019. The brewery is located by the ruins of the oldest abbey in Sweden - Vreta kloster - which was active from 1101 until 1582. In the ruins, archeologists have found remains of the old brewery, where the nuns made beer for their own consumption. With a love for Belgian styled (abbey) beers, and with respect for the local history, the brewery only brew local versions of Belgian styled beers. We are the first Swedish brewery winning a medal in the Brussels Beer challenge - Our Nunnans Skördeöl won the Bronze medal in the category Double Saison in 2021 as well as in 2023, our Nun Gluten Blonde won gold in 2023 in the category gluten free beers and our Fader rödskäggs XLIV-IPA won the bronze medal in 2025 in the category Belgian IPA. Our quadruple Abbedissan 12 won the bronze medal in the European beer star in 2022 and our Saison Le Monde de La Biere the gold medal in 2023, silver medal in 2024 and gold in 2025.
