Triple fff Brewery was founded in 1997 and is Hampshire's oldest stand alone independent brewery - the founder is still an active brewer and still a shareholder. 'What does Triple fff mean?'. Most of our beers (World's Best Bitter 2025 at the World Beer Awards - Alton's Pride aside) have a strong musical association. An f in music score stands for fortississimo - loud - so we take that up 3 levels! The brewery near Alton in Hampshire started with two brews to its name; Moondance, [the first British Pale to be brewed using American Cascade Hops] and Comfortably Numb - these remain among the most popular Triple fff beers today.
