About tingel tangel BEER

«Tingel» originally meant a travelling performer, someone who moved through the provinces and played wherever there was a stage. «Tingel Tangel» later came to stand for the small, independent venue, set apart from the big commercial theatres and touring circuses. That's roughly where we sit too, and more literally than most: we're a gypsy brewery, with no place of our own, brewing wherever we find good people and good kit. At the moment that's mainly with our friends at Thun Bier. What we do is hop forward IPAs. Every brew is a new beer, but always the same pursuit, learning from the last batch and carrying it into the next: a different hop, a sharper ratio, a cleaner expression of aroma. It's less about settling on one recipe than about refining the craft itself over time, closer in spirit to the Japanese idea of perfecting a single discipline batch by batch. The tradition behind the name runs older than the beer. In 1600, one of our ancestors opened the brew pub «Zum Weissen Rössle» (To the White Little Horse) in Kempten, Southern Bavaria. The horse on our logo and cans is our nod to those roots.
