About Surf Monkey Beer

Love good beer? Us too. Surf Monkey Beer was born out of a passion for craft beer and the frustration that none was available in Santa Marta (Colombia). Surf Monkey Beer began it’s journey as a homebrew project in a small garage by Will an English Colombian school teacher (who also lived in the garage amognst his beloved beer). When not in the classroom teaching kids of Santa Marta, Will was brewing beer and surfing along the carribean coast. Brewing beer gradually developed from a hobby/passion into an obsession and a mission. The mission was simple introduce great craft ales to an area of Colombia that has only known a 100 year monoply of commercial larger. Good friends Colm Rea and Brian Rea shared this vision and decided to support the mission to bring great ales to Santa Marta and to continue to improve recipes and techniques using the best natural ingredients from around the world (no chemicals and no preservatives). Let’s have the best beer on the coast.
