About Ritterguts Gose

The old Rittergut Gose brewery was founded in 1824 when master brewer Johann Philipp Ledermann brought the original recipe from Goslar to Döllnitz. It soon became the most famous Gose producer for Leipzig and Halle. After the expropriation of the brewery in 1945, Gose as a beer style almost died out. The new start was made in 1999 - since then, Ritterguts Gose has successfully established itself not only in its old home region, but also in other parts of Germany and internationally. Since 2016, we have also started to develop new sour ale creations or revive old styles. We brew our beers exclusively at the Bergt brewery in Reichenbrand. In 2024, Ritterguts Gose celebrated its 200th anniversary as the oldest existing Gose brand in the world.
