About Mithril Ales
Local Darlington CAMRA Member & well known Craft Brewer Pete Fenwick has realised his dream – opening a microbrewery in an old stables, near his home in the village of Aldbrough St John. After 8 years of brewing 5 & 10 gallon brews in the kitchen (to the annoyance of his wife, Corinna) & a lot of saving up Mithril Ales’s 2.5bbl brew plant arrived on April 7th 2010. Pete brews mainly for the local market. and his beers can be found in free houses in the Darlington & Richmond area. The brewery is named Mithril after his house in the village, which he named almost 30 years ago. The name comes from The Lord of The Rings & is “Dwarf Silver” or “True “Silver”, named “Mithril” by the elves – stronger than steel. In the Brewery Logo an Elf Maiden is depicte
