About Derr HOF
All our beers are handcrafted by master brewer Jascha Derr himself. He uses only organically produced raw materials. The malt is freshly ground before each brew and the correct amount of hops is measured out by hand. He carefully selects the right yeast to suit the desired type of beer. And to give you the best taste experience, our beer is allowed to ferment and mature in peace and quiet for four to five weeks. Although permitted under the German Purity Law, he does not use plastic granules or diatomaceous earth to clarify the beer, nor does he add yeast nutrients to regulate the fermentation process. For us, every brew is unique, and you should be able to taste that! No two batches of derr BIER will ever taste exactly the same, even if they were brewed according to the same recipe. And we will be careful not to mix (blend) different batches to produce a standardized beer. Our raw materials bring with them a natural diversity that results from weather and processing influences. What has long been a distinguishing feature of wine is something we also want to apply to our beers. That's why a derr BIER “Kellerbier” brew 2 will not taste the same as a derr BIER “Kellerbier” brew 5 or brew 25. The good thing about this is that you can look forward to unfiltered, unpasteurized beer enjoyment every time!
