Nestled in Old Heidelberg Park, our roots are in the 1920’s when the German Clubs of Milwaukee leased land on n Port Washington Road. The park, soccer fields, and clubhouse were finally complete in 1967. Since then, the site has been host to Milwaukee’s biggest and most authentic Oktoberfest and is the home of Milwaukee’s world-renowned Bavarian Soccer Club. In 2016 the Bavarian Bierhaus re-opened the space once occupied by the Bavarian Inn. It features a 55 table traditionally decorated Bierhall with stunning artwork, extensive bar seating, and hosts live music every weekend. At the center of it all - Bier. Black Husky has moved from Pembine to 909 E Locust St, Milwaukee, WI 53212. Black Husky Brewing was started in 2010 in a small log cabin in the woods in the rural town of Pembine, WI. Inspired by the dogs in their son’s sled dog kennel, co-founders Tim Eichinger and Toni Eichinger named the brewery after their beloved husky Howler. Each of their beers is associated with the dogs from the kennel as a tribute to the loyalty and companionship that defined each of them. While not in their original plans, Black Husky began getting calls from bars and restaurants in Milwaukee to see if they could purchase their beers. So Tim and Toni began driving down kegs and bottles to Milwaukee in their Ford Transit Connect van. First two or three kegs and cases and eventually they were turning business away so the poor van didn’t collapse under the load. In 2016, Black Husky moved its brewery operations to the Riverwest neighborhood of Milwaukee where they currently operate a taproom and produce their beers. Not much has changed. Sure there is a bigger building and a few more people in the team but the beer is still delivered in their van, bottling is done by hand and the same care and dedication to produce the best beer is still practiced to honor the 23 dogs that spent their lives with Tim and Toni.

On December 2nd, 1987, brothers Russ and Jim Klisch opened Lakefront Brewery and sold their first batch of Riverwest Stein Amber Lager to a neighborhood tavern in Milwaukee. We have grown to brew 46,848 barrels of beer in 2017 and have received awards in most every renowned beer competition. Our products are now distributed to 30+ states, Canada, Ukraine and South Korea. Lakefront Brewery was the first certified organic brewery in America, the first brewery to produce a government-approved, gluten-free beer and the first indigenous beer using all Wisconsin grown ingredients. We currently brew 30+ year-round and seasonal beers including a barrel-aged series and our unique, one-off My Turn Series which gives each of our full time employees a chance to choose a style we've never produced.
