    Eighty-Three Brewery

    Akron, Ohio, United States

Brewed in Akron A longtime dream of Eighty-Three’s head brewer and owner, Chris Surak, was to open a brewery in Akron where he could share the perfect brew with his community. Chris and his wife Steph have been hosts to many a friend, neighbor, and family members over the years...all called to their home to partake in Chris’s delicious beer creations. They are excited to share those brews and that hospitality with their soon-to-be new friends in the city of Akron. Chris Surak, Head Brewer and Co-Owner. Chris has been a member of Akron’s renowned homebrew club, SAAZ (Society of Akron-Area Zymurgists), since 2009. Many other members have also gone on to open their own breweries to showcase their skills and share their beers; Akronym, R. Shea, Blue Heron, Paradigm Shift, Ignite, Magic City, Missing Mountain, and no doubt, more to come. The Suraks are proud to join the ranks. Chris and Steph, along with their family and friends, labored over perfecting the brewery space in the East End over the course of the last year. The space and the beers are a modern take on the classical: clean and bright, but familiar. Housed in the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company headquarters in Akron’s East End, Eighty-Three Brewery is striving to do one thing: make good beer. Whether it’s a perfectly hopped IPA, or a tart and refreshing sour... it’s going to be good.
