    Deviate Brewing

    Indianapolis, Indiana, United States

DEVIATE FROM THE NORM. Brewers Mike and Greg relocated from Cincinnati to Indy in 1995, and soon after they were introduced to their first Belgian beers hooking them on good beer ever since. It progressed to the inevitable challenge of making their own home brew versions of the beers they loved, and with the gift of their first brewing equipment from a friend, they started their beer-making journey two decades ago. From the beginning, both found common ground β€” having similar tastes in beer styles which progressed to a shared obsession of trying to figure out how their favorites were made, while sharing in the fun of sharing the results with friends which kept them motivated to make more. Playing to each other's strengths, Mike is excited about the technical part of brewing and Greg enjoys determining flavor combinations and fun new things to try. Their joint passion to make fun, creative craft beer coupled with their individual strengths has made for a top-tier brewing team. It's in the name: "Deviate from the norm" is the guiding mantra that Mike and Greg apply to their brewery design & approach and how they create their recipes. Often craft beer is held to standard beer style guidelines, where every aspect is defined and often confined by long standing definitions. Although one can respect the talent to brew a well-made beer done to style, they believe that craft beer should be fun and push the envelope of what is traditional.

    18th Street Brewery

    Gary, Indiana, United States

Sometimes things happen for a reason. Starting to feel burnt out from the wear and tear of the hospitality game, Drew Fox took a trip to Belgium. The hostel he was staying at had a phenomanal wheat beer with which he fell in love. Upon returning to Chicago, Drew found it difficult to get beers that sparked that same feeling he had in Europe. It was around this time that Blue Moon started circulating and it- along with Chicago's Half Acre, started to put Drew's wheels in motion. In 2012 a Kickstarter campaign was begun to get money to open a brewery and taproom for 18th Street Brewery to call their own. The campaign was well recieved and exceeeded its initial goal. In the midst of brewing and bottling six different beers, 18th was able to find a home in the Miller Beach community of Gary, Indiana. A lot has happened since that trip to Belgium and the end of the Kickstarter campaign, and we're happy to now have a home where we can brew, bottle and serve fresh, local beer.

    New Oberpfalz Brewing

    Griffith, Indiana, United States

New Oberpfalz Brewing takes its name from a district in Bavaria called the Oberpfalz (or β€œUpper Palatinate" in English). The Oberpfalz is located in the northeast corner of Bavaria and is comprised of the frontier between Nuremberg, Germany and the German/Czech border. It is a rugged landscape, rich in brewing history, and home to many great beers. The Oberpfalz is also the mystical center of Germany, and the original home to many of the now familiar tales inked by the Brothers Grimm and Franz Xavier Von Schoenwerth. Specializing in German ales and lagers while maintaining a roster of esoteric beer styles, New Oberpfalz brings the beer taste experiences of a quaint Oberpfalzerisch village to America.

With that in mind, we have long considered making the investment to develop an upscale, quality dining experience in our town that would offer great food in an memorable environment. Our Ruhe152 menu is going to be very eclectic, offering everything from great salads, sandwiches, steaks and seafood to sushi and other memorable fares. There will be a number of signature drinks including tasty craft cocktails, along with some very savory beers brewed on site, and spirits distilled on site.

    Harry Stuff Brewing Company

    Wawaka, Indiana, United States

Harry Stuff Brewing is a family owned brewery named after our great-grandfather that tirelessly farmed along with our grandfather in the depths of the β€œGreat Depression”, the real hard way (without much mechanization), just down the road from here. The brewery sits on our small family farm, Southfork Farms, in Noble County, Indiana adjacent to Mallard Roost Wetland Conservation Area (one of the most ecological diverse places in Indiana). Our great-uncle Joe purchased this land through trapping after surviving The Battle of the Bulge in World War II. These characters and events remain influential as we aim to produce farmhouse beers that showcase the wondrous collision of agricultural products and nature.
