There once was another Brampton Brewery; in fact it’s fair to say that the original is the inspiration behind this new project and what continues to drive it forward. The relaunch as a microbrewery has been the realisation of life-long dreams for many of those involved. But there was nothing ‘micro’ about the original brewery, which ran for 130 years and owned 142 pubs, before brewing ceased in the 1950s. After an absence of over 50 years, it was reborn in the winter of 2007. We first began brewing in 2010 using a six-barrel tower brewery system located in the basement of the Imperial Club, Mexborough. We sell our beer onsite as well as local outlets. We are a friendly brewery tap where children are welcome. We have a main bar where all the entertainment is held, a separate lounge area, plus a games/function room. Our six hand-pumps serve two permanent imperial beers, with four rotating from the brewery itself or guest breweries. Entertainment ranges from a battle of the bands on a Tuesday, karaoke on Wednesday, an award winning acoustic night on a Thursday, and a wide range of live music on Friday-Sunday. We were delighted to win ‘District Pub Of The Season 2012’!
