Lager? Why do we brew Lager? Lager is Just as laid back as we are and almost as relaxed. Lager for us is the most excellent beer out there and yet very little is brewed within the Craft Beer scene. Like many of you, we’ve grown up drinking and enjoying Lagers “We Just Love them”!!

Tavistock, Devon, England
New nano brewery established in earl 2017 at Victorian tourist attraction, Morwellham Quay, near Tavistock, Devon, by brewer George Lister, who relocated from Aberdeenshire, selling his 20 BBL plant in the process. Now using a 100 litre plant, three bottle conditioned beers are brewed, with the beers currently available in the on-site shop and the Ship Inn, the on-site café, and a growing number of local outlets. Indications show that beer used to be brewed in the Ship Inn when the mine was operational. Morwellham Quay now enjoys "World Heritage Status", as part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape.

Founded 1977, the oldest brewery in Devon. Closed some time in 2000, but happily brewing was revived in late 2000 at the new address over the border in Cornwall. Brewing was again suspended towards the end of 2011.

We use only the finest ingredients in our traditiional craft ales. The finest English malts, carefully selected hops, our own strain of yeast, and clear, pure Dartmoor Water. As England's highest brewery, at 1465ft above sea level, we are also well placed to enjoy the benefits of clean, fresh Dartmoor, and stunning Dartmoor views in every direction - both of which, we think, add a certain touch of magic to our brews. Dartmoor Brewery was established in Princetown in 1994 by award-winning brewer Simon Loveless and local businessman in humble premises behind the Prince of Wales pub. Our first beer, Jail Ale (brewed within 800 metres of the infamous Dartmoor Prison) is a consistent award-winner to this day, and has been joined by a full range of superb craft ales including Legend, Dartmoor IPA and Dartmoor Best. Today we have a state-of-the-art purpose-built brewery complex, but still based very firmly in Princetown, our birthplace.

Noss Beer Works produce's unproven beer and is ranked #41 in Devon. They are most well known for "Church Ledge", which is an English Pale Ale and "Ebb Rock", which is a Bitter - Extra Special / Strong (ESB). Their primary focus is brewing Amber Ales and Pale Ales.

We produce a range of cask and bottle conditioned "real ales" from ingredients sourced as locally as possible. Westminster barley is grown by Brian Lethbridge on his farm in the South Hams and malted at Tuckers in Newton Abbot. The hops used in all of our beers, with the exception of the aroma hops in one occasional brew, are grown in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The fermentation yeast is "wet" reducing the amount of waste yeast from each brew and allowing the strain to develop its own distinctive characteristics. Our spent grains, the remains of the malted barley after mashing, are collected by a local farmer and fed to his cattle.
