    Box Social Brewing

Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England

Box Social Brewing began in 2015 with father and son Steve and Ross Holland. Our aim is to create new, exciting beers to get people talking and question their perception of beer. In Victorian times, middle-class people had few acceptable ways to socialise. A solution was "box socials" - events held at people's houses where they could mix in a risk-free environment. Weโ€™re taking Box Socials into the 21st century, connecting people over great artisan beer. After starting out in a garage, we set up in Newburn on a 6brl kit, built a small tasting room and were soon selling out of beer fast. We moved into our new 15brl brewery in Feb 2019; we now create not only better beer, but more of it! Our goal is simple; to create the best beer we can.

    Mordue Brewery

North Shields, Tyne and Wear, England

The original Mordue Brewery was situated on Wallsend village green and run by Joseph Mordue, a brewer of distinction in the 19th Century. In 1995, over 100 years later, the superb ales were revived. This incarnation of Mordue built up a local strong and loyal customer base which saw demand require no less than 3 expansions of brewery, from the original West Chirton site to a huge brewery in the Tyne Tunnel estate. This new range of beers gained both local and national awards. The craft beer revolution is one of the most innovative and exciting developments for years in the UK beer market. We are at the absolute forefront of that movement. Mordue is now part of the Blue Brewing Company.
