Frustrated with beers that seemed all head and no body, Pete decided to grab conventional brewing tactics by the thorns. Knowing he could harmonise his broad knowledge base, Pete realised it was time to transform his frustration into inspiration. Out of this dream, Thorny Devil was born. Okay, you might know that a thorny devil is a wandering reptilian badass that likes to hang out in the scorching heat. But what does that have to do with beer? Well, it just so happens that this roguish fellow perfectly embodies our collective spirit; he’s feisty and independent when he needs to be, but he’s chill and inquisitive—the essence of Mandurah—because he knows life’s a beach. He also has a bit of a funny walk, something we’ve all experienced after one too many cleansing ales. He’s one of Australia’s most unique icons, a revolutionary (and evolutionary) marvel that represents the enthusiasm of searching for the next great adventure out there. Beer isn’t some high school crush around these parts; it’s more like our soulmate, and there’s no chance it’ll become “the one that got away.” To put it succinctly: beer is our true love. But it’s not just the liquid gold we’re fanatics about; we love everything that beer has the potential to represent. ## What they brew - IPA — 37% of the beers we track - Stout / Porter — 30% of the beers we track - Pale Ale — 28% of the beers we track - Other — 5% of the beers we track ## Find them - Address: 185 Clifton Downs Road, Herron, Western Australia, Australia - Coordinates: -32.7457152, 115.6576161 - Website: https://www.thornydevil.beer/ ## Breweries nearby - [Wedgetail Brewing](https://finding.beer/brewery/wedgetail-brewing-16608.md) — 3.54, Poor — Bouvard, Western Australia — 5 mi away - [Brew 42](https://finding.beer/brewery/brew-42-9894.md) — 2.64, Limited — Lake Clifton, Western Australia — 5.1 mi away - [Boundary Island Brewery](https://finding.beer/brewery/boundary-island-brewery-25450.md) — 3.58, Poor — Erskine, Western Australia — 13 mi away - [Allday Brewing Co](https://finding.beer/brewery/allday-brewing-co-36726.md) — 3.61, Poor — Coodanup, Western Australia — 15 mi away - [Old Coast Road Brewery](https://finding.beer/brewery/old-coast-road-brewery-6537.md) — 2.93, Limited — Myalup, Western Australia — 24 mi away - [Whitelakes Brewing](https://finding.beer/brewery/whitelakes-brewing-8464.md) — 3.04, Limited — Baldivis, Western Australia — 28 mi away - [Brugan Brewing](https://finding.beer/brewery/brugan-brewing-29881.md) — 3.32, Poor — Wokalup, Western Australia — 28 mi away - [King Road Brewing Co.](https://finding.beer/brewery/king-road-brewing-co-22125.md) — 3.77, Fine — Oldbury, Western Australia — 35 mi away ## Rankings this brewery appears in - [Best breweries in Western Australia](https://finding.beer/breweries/australia/western-australia.md) - [Best breweries in Australia](https://finding.beer/breweries/australia.md) --- Finding Beer scores breweries on the beer they brew rather than on the venue.
