## About

In Spring 2005 Matthew Walley converted the cow shed at a 19th century ex-dairy farm, filling it with brewing equipment. Soon after, Old Wavertonian quickly won CAMRA Northwich Beer of the Festival, & we haven’t looked back since.

In 2008 we opened The Brewery Tap in Gamul House, the only surviving medieval stone-built open hall in Chester. To the delight of the city’s thirsty beer drinkers. Awarded Cheshire CAMRA pub of the year in 2025.

In 2014 we opened The West Kirby Tap. Fast becoming the real ale centre of the community on the beautiful waterfront of the Wirral. With its own unique charm that blends craft beer, music and sports.

In 2025 we opened Chester Station Taproom, restoring the waiting room in the west wing of the station. With a humbling contribution from supporters via our crowdfunding campaign we were able to provide our home city with a craft beer haven at its terminus.

Our HQ is Common Farm, Waverton. Where used grains are a valuable feed for the pigs that provide our pubs with meat. Bee hives provide honey for our seasonal beer & hop waste is used to fertilise local fields.

Our brewers Tom & Rik bring the favourites that our loyal customers have come to know & love, along with a constantly evolving range of recipes & innovative brewing techniques.

Our beers are all gluten-free and regularly tested, and we use 100% vegan finings. Insisting that nobody should be left behind in the experience of tasting the very best, freshest beers.
