Arriving in Pensacola in late 2007, owner and company founder Gary Yetter Sr. discovered that the area lacked the variety of malts, hops, and yeast strains he was accustomed to while living in the Pacific Northwest. After years of going outside the local area to obtain products, Gary decided to launch Gary's Home Brew Supply in August 2013. From it's humble beginnings of having just malts, hops, and yeast, Gary's now carries well over 1,000 products in the store, offering customers excellent selection and price. Gary's Home Brew Supply expanded into the craft beer/wine scene in early 2019 by opening Gary's Brewery and Biergarten and Wandering Oaks Winery, which are owned and operated by Gary and his family. The brewery hosts many events throughout the year to include Farmer's Markets, Plant-A-Palooza, Oktoberfest, and is also a very popular wedding venue.
