General Pulaski, for whom the park is named, was a Polish Commander who emigrated to North America to help in the cause of the American Revolutionary War. Pulaski became a general in the Continental Army and even was shot taking a bullet for George Washington. He was so revered for his heroism, that places across the United States still bear his name: Pulaski Halls, Pulaski Parks, Pulaski Highways, and even cities -- all in his memory.
