Die Brauerei Schönram ist seit 1780 im Besitz der Familie Köllerer/Oberlindober und wird seit 1994 von Alfred und Helga Oberlindober in achter Generation geführt. Die Rohstoffe Hopfen und Malz werden sorgfältig und persönlich von unserem Chef- Braumeister Eric Toft bei unseren Vertragsbauern in der Hallertau und Tettnang am Bodensee ausgewählt. Neben der Auswahl der Rohstoffe hat auch die traditionelle und handwerkliche Herstellung eine große Bedeutung. So findet die Hauptgärung der Schönramer Biere in offene Gärbottiche statt, damit wir unbekömmliche und nicht gewünschte Hopfenharze aus dem Bier abschöpfen können. Zudem garantieren eine wochenlange Reifezeit, eine langsame Gärung, sowie der Verzicht auf Kurzzeiterhitzung und Pasteurisierung den einmaligen Geschmack unserer Biere.

From 1411 onwards, the Sternbräu was one of more than a dozen breweries in Salzburg’s old town. In 1907 the brewery was relocated to the Riedenburg district behind the Neutor. In 1911 the Sternbrauerei had the second highest beer production in Salzburg after Stiegl. In 1956 the last bottle of the then popular Sternbier was produced in the “Sternbrauerei” in Riedenburg and the brewery was closed; today there are luxury apartments. After 58 years, a new “Stern” beer was created in 2014 after the major renovation in Kaltenhausen.
