1. Tartarus Beers
Leeds, West Yorkshire, England
Micro Brewery in Leeds, brewing strong and European style beers. Named after the Greek hell, all our beers are inspired and named after mythical creatures. Our passion for mythology and legends is only surpassed by our passion for producing great and innovative beer.
2. Northern Monk
Leeds, West Yorkshire, England
We are an independent brewery based in Holbeck, Leeds. Inspired by our northern surroundings and history of monastic brewing practiced across the region for thousands of years, we commit ourselves to creating the highest quality beers; combining the best of traditional monastic brewing values with a progressive approach to ingredients and techniques. We regularly collaborate with national and international breweries, businesses and charities to help strengthen the north for positive change, and to continually diversify our own offering, such as through our Patrons Projects. Today, in the north, we carry a torch for all the beer that was, and all that beer can be. We’re on a quest to create the best beer we can, giving back where we can.
3. North
Leeds, West Yorkshire, England
North was founded in 2015 by John Gyngell and Christian Townsley, the pioneers behind legendary Leeds beer venue North Bar, which opened in 1997. Known as “the first craft beer bar in Britain”, North Bar influenced a new wave of modern beer bars and breweries across the country, including their own. In 2015 they turned their 10-year dream of making their own beer into a reality by opening a 15bbl brewery, featuring a 200-person capacity tap room, just half a mile from their original flagship bar. The core range and seasonal specials epitomise what they look for in beer: big juicy flavours with tonnes of hops; fun, playful and interesting flavour combinations; classics that demonstrate an uncompromising approach to quality.
4. Turning Point Brew Co.
Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, England
We are a small team of beer lovers with a clear mission: Brew our favourite beers, and have a good time. Our brewery recently relocated to Knaresborough, after two (and a bit) years at our original site in Kirkbymoorside. The brewery launched into orbit in 2017, with Aron & Cameron calling time on the day jobs and never looking back. Since then we've been busy brewing as many unique beers as possible, whilst modestly honing our craft, learning everything we can about this mysterious liquid, and trying our damnedest to cram as much fun into every minute of it as possible. We invite you into our little world filled with hops, good music, and space travel. Love, team TP.
5. Wilde Child Brewing Company
Leeds, West Yorkshire, England
A multi award-winning mircrobrewery pushing out big, bold beers. I ventured into the world of beer making in 2010, and it wasn't long before I took the leap into all-grain brewing, bought some better kit and got creative. To my utter surprise, my first batch turned out better than I hoped. It was at this point I knew what I finally wanted to do with my life - make beer! I honed my skills over the next couple of year's until I moved into the world of commercial brewing. I learned as much as I could, working with two of the regions most awarded breweries. My passion for beer only got stronger until one day, I decided to take the leap. After a huge amount of planning and years ahead of my original plan, Wilde Child Brewing Co. was born.
6. Samuel Smith
Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, England
Samuel Smith brews at the Old Brewery, Tadcaster – it is Yorkshire’s oldest brewery. Traditional methods of brewing have been retained at The Old Brewery. The brewery still has its own cooper making and repairing all its oak casks; all Samuel Smith’s naturally conditioned draught beer is handpulled from oak casks. The original well at The Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the brewing water being drawn from 85 feet underground. Samuel Smith’s ales and stouts (except draught Sovereign and Extra Stout) are fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ fermenting vessels made of solid slabs of slate which give the beers a fuller bodied taste, using the same strain of yeast since the nineteenth century. All Samuel Smith’s beers are brewed solely from authentic natural ingredients without any chemical additives, raw material adjuncts, artificial sweeteners, colourings, flavourings or preservatives. All Samuel Smith’s beers and ciders are suitable for a vegan diet (except cask conditioned Old Brewery Bitter and bottled Yorkshire Stingo).
7. SALT
Saltaire, West Yorkshire, England
Our name is SALT, after the pioneering industrialist who built the village we first called home. It was from here, we ventured out into the brewing world, equipped with only a single punchy vision – make great craft beer for everyone and do it our way. Tired of following tradition, we go where our brewing instincts take us, shamelessly combining heritage and modern brewery craft, crossing styles, exploring new ingredients and producing many award-winners along the way. When it comes to crafting beer and pursuing our own evolution, we’re pushing on at pace. We’re growing, and so is our selection. There’s now a whole world of great SALT craft beers just waiting for you to reach out and try. Don’t thank us, like the beer, it's a pleasure
